I have a long tradition of not doing very much at all on Sundays. Can you believe we’re still having this heatwave? I’m getting used to the hot weather now!
As a result, I’m not as hungry as I normally would be. It’s a shame this doesn’t affect my appetite for unhealthy food! In all seriousness, this is something that I need to work on, but that’s a topic to explore on another post.
This week, I’ve discovered raw foods. I’m going to investigate this to see if this is something I can introduce into my own diet or if this yet another thing reserved for the rich and famous…
Anyway, my weight this week has remained the same. At least I haven’t put any weight on!
What it says on the tin.
I usually take a salad to work for lunch but what about dinner? What to cook when it’s too hot to do so? Bearing in mind I want something tasty but not fattening.
The only recipes that appeal to me all require quite a bit of cooking so I’m stumped.
Last night my partner and I had a belated birthday meal. We went to a Spanish inspired seafood restaurant. The menu changes daily depending on the catch of the day so I couldn’t research the menu beforehand.
I ended up ordering crayfish thermidor as I refused to pay £40 for the lobster tail, which would have been my first option.
And it was delicious, how many calories in thermidor sauce? Who cares, you can’t really diet at a restaurant now, can you?
Incidentally, online lobster thermidor recipes seem to agree on 490 calories, which isn’t too bad.
Finished off with a slice of cheesecake with blueberry sauce. Oops. 🙂
However, I’ve been mainly good this week. The heatwave we’re experiencing helps as I’m not as hungry as I usually am. Doesn’t help with the ice cream craving but I’ve managed to stay off the Ben & Jerry’s.
I weighed myself this morning and lost the tiniest bit of weight but at 13 stone 3 pounds, it’s still a loss!
So, I’ve weighed myself this morning and I’m currently at 13 stone 3.25 pounds. A lot. Too much.
I want to be 12 stone and a half by the end of September.
I quit Weight Watchers. I want to do other things and that commitment to my Monday evenings stands in the way.
So there, that’s done.
I’m still committed to losing weight as I still have quite a way to go. Doing this by myself daunts me but I know that if I focus, I can achieve this.
So, what’s happened in the seven months since my last post?
My weight loss has been see-sawing quite a bit. From my latest weigh-in, total loss currently stands at one stone, four and a half pounds.
A lot has happened in these months, most important of all I’ve been diagnosed with depression. I’ve been taking SSRI‘s for nearly two months and I’m feeling a lot better now. I’m concerned that my medication is interfering with my weight loss; I’ll address this with my doctor on my next visit.
So, what’s happened in the two months since my last post?
Well, total weight loss is now one stone, four pounds. Nearly nine kilos for our Metric friends.
I’m still dealing with the frustrations in slow weight loss. This is requiring quite some will power on my part; I’m very tempted to add fad diet elements to this. Fad diets do not work, remember this!
I’m hoping to lose a couple more pounds in time for Christmas as I’m sure to put some weight back on during the holidays.
